AILET 2017 – B.A. LLB (Hons.), LLM, and Ph.D – Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for each programme is different for National Law University Delhi’s AILET 2017. The details are given below:
5 Year B.A. LLB (Hons.) Programme
This programme is one of the most popular 5-year integrated LLB programmes in India.
Minimum educational qualification
10+2 passed from a recognized board with minimum 50 percent marks. Students appearing in 12th class are eligible for the exam.
Minimum age requirement
Below 20 years as on 1st July 2017 and 22 years for SC and ST categories’ candidates.
Total Seats
Total intake – 80 seats
- 10 seats reserved for direct admission of foreign students (exempted from AILET 2017) on the basis of merit
- 70 seats on merit through AILET 2017 (15 percent of seats are reserved SC, 7.5 percent for ST, and 3 percent for disabled persons)

1 Year LLM Programme
Minimum educational qualification
LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized university/college with 55 percent marks. 50 percent marks in case of SC, ST and disabled person category candidates. Students appear in the final year of LLB are eligible.
Total Seats
Total intake – 40
35 seats on merit through AILET 2017 (15 percent of seats are reserved SC, 7.5 percent for ST, and 3 percent for disabled persons)
5 seats reserved for direct admission of foreign students on the basis of merit

Doctor of Philosophy in Law – Ph.D.
Minimum education qualification
LLM degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college with minimum 55 percent marks. 50 percent marks in case of SC, ST and disabled persons.

The PhD AILET 2017 is divided into two parts that is Paper 1 (objective type – research methodology) and Paper 2 (research proposal).
Paper 1 (Research Methodology)
Total marks: 100 marks
Total questions: 100 questions
Type: multiple choice questions/objective type
Total duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Paper 2 (Research Proposal)
The research proposal should have:
- Research title
- Statement of problem/Literature Review
- Research questions, Hypothesis, and Research Methodology
- Research design
