NTA has started registration for UGC NET June 2025 exam. The last date for application is 7th May 2025.
UGC NET June 2025 exams will be conducted from 21st to 30th June 2025.
And the result is expected to be out in the 2nd Week of July 2025.

UGC-NET is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) is an important exam for those who wish to become Assistant Professors or pursue a Ph.D. in Indian colleges and universities.
This exam also helps identify candidates for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Depending on your performance, you can qualify under three categories:
Category 01: JRF + Assistant Professor + Ph.D. Admission |
Category 02: Assistant Professor + Ph.D. Admission (but not JRF) |
Category 03: Ph.D. Admission only |
What Happens After the Exam?
If You Qualify for Assistant Professor
You are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor roles in Indian colleges and universities
Recruitment is based on UGC rules and the hiring policy of each university
If You Qualify for Ph.D. Admission Only
Your UGC NET score will be accepted in place of a university-level entrance test
Admission depends on:
70% weightage: NET score
30% weightage: Interview or viva-voce conducted by the university
Your score remains valid for 1 year for Ph.D. admissions
If You Qualify for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship)
You are eligible for a monthly research fellowship funded by UGC
The JRF is valid for 3 years from the date of the award letter
If you already joined a Ph.D., your fellowship starts from the result declaration or joining date (whichever is later)
You must join a university, IIT, or national institution for full-time research
Additional Opportunities
PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) may use UGC NET scores for recruitment
Central and State Universities often give preference to UGC NET-qualified candidates in research projects, assistantships, and teaching assignments

UGC NET June 2025 Qualification
JRF Eligibility and Validity
- JRF-qualified candidates can apply for research positions in top institutions.
- Their admission will still depend on a separate interview by the university.
Ph.D Eligibility and Validity
- For Ph.D. admission (without JRF), NET marks will carry 70% weight, and interview marks will carry 30%.
- These NET marks will remain valid for 1 year for Ph.D. admissions (without JRF).
UGC NET Results
- UGC NET results will be provided in percentiles.
- For subjects with multiple exam shifts, marks will be normalized using the Equi-percentile method.
Fellowships Offered
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will offer the following fellowships to select reserved category candidates:
- National Fellowship for SC students (NFSC)
- National Fellowship for OBC students (NFOBC)
- National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities (NFPwD)

There are 85 subjects to choose from.

Medium of Question Paper
Available in English and Hindi (except for language subjects).
Once the medium is selected in the application form, it cannot be changed.
In case of confusion, the English version of a question will be considered final.
This exam opens the door to academic and research careers in India.
It ensures only the most capable candidates are chosen for teaching and research roles.

Documents Required Before You Apply
- Keep these ready in digital format (scanned copy or clear photo):
- Passport size photograph (10KB to 200KB, white background, 80% face visible)
- Signature (4KB to 30KB, in running handwriting with blue/black pen)
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- EWS/PwD certificate (if applicable)
- Post-Graduation mark sheet or degree
- Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, etc.)
- Your own email ID and mobile number (used for all future communication)
Step-by-Step Process to Apply – UGC NET June 2025
Step 1: Online Registration
- Visit the official website: https://ugcnetjun2025.ntaonline.in/
- Register using your own mobile number and email ID.
- Note the system-generated Application Number.
Step 2: Fill the Online Application Form
- Enter personal details (name, date of birth, parents’ names).
- Choose your subject for the exam and four preferred exam cities.
- Provide educational details (PG degree, marks, year of passing).
- Upload your photograph and signature in the correct format.
Step 3: Pay the Exam Fee
- Use Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.
- Save the payment receipt and take a printout.
Final Submission
- Your application will be considered complete only after:
- Filling all the details correctly
- Uploading the photo and signature
- Successful payment of fee
- After this, a Confirmation Page will be generated.
- Download and keep at least 4 copies for future reference.
UGC NET 2025 Application Fee
- General (unreserved): Rs. 1150/-
- General-EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and OBC NCL (Non-Creamy Layer): Rs. 600/-
- SC, ST, Third Gender and PwD: Rs. 325/-
Things to Remember
- Only one application is allowed per candidate.
- Multiple applications will be rejected.
- Make sure all details (name, date of birth, subject, exam cities, etc.) are correct and final.
- No changes can be made after the correction window closes.
- If your payment is successful but the Confirmation Page is not generated, contact your bank/payment gateway.
- Keep your email and SMS notifications active.
- NTA will send important updates there.
- Download and install the Sandes app as an additional way to receive NTA updates.
UGC NET June 2025 Admit Card
- Admit cards will be available before the exam on the NTA website.
- Admit cards will not be sent by post.
- If there is any error in your admit card (name, photo, etc.), contact NTA immediately.
