The Department of Political Science is located at the corner of the North Campus Arts Faculty near the Department of Mathematics. 

The nearest metro station, which is Delhi University metro station is 10-15 minutes walking distance, and 15-20 minutes from GTB Nagar metro station.

MA Political Science DU Course Structure

Delhi University introduced CBCS in PG courses in 2021. Therefore, the DU MA Political Science programme was also updated as per the CBCS guidelines. 

The annual term end examination has been replaced by the semester-based assessment. 

Following table describes the credit system of the MA Political Science course at Delhi University: 

Semester I: Core courses – 4 (credits 20)
Semester II: Core courses – 2 (credits 10) and Open Elective courses 2 (8 credits)
Semester III: Elective courses 4 (credits 20)
Semester IV: Elective courses 4 (credits 20) and Skills based course 1 (credits 2)

The MA Political Science programme at DU consists of 6 core courses, 8 elective courses, 1 skills based course, and 2 open elective courses. 

The total credits of the programme are 80, of which 30 credits are from core courses, 40 from elective courses, 2 credits from a skill based course, and 8 credits from open elective courses.

Eligibility Criteria for MA Political Science at DU

The admissions to the MA Political Science programme at Delhi University are offered under two categories – C1 (for non DU and non political science students) and C2 (for DU and political science students).

C1 Category: Three-year or Four-year Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
C2 Category: Three-year or Four-year Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in Political Science from University of Delhi OR Four-year Bachelor’s Degree with Major or Minor in Political Science from University of Delhi

 

Admission Process for DU MA Political Science

Delhi University offers admission to MA Political Science only on the basis of CUET PG Political Science HUQP18. 

This is the entrance test you need to appear in order to qualify for applying for DU MA Political Science. 

Earlier, it was DUET MA Political Science entrance, but now it is only on the basis of CUET PG Political Science entrance test.

Following are the details of selection process of MA Political Science at DU:

1. Delhi University notifies registration on its CSAS portal.
2. Students according apply as per their eligibility criteria and category using their CUET PG Political Science HUQP18 test paper score.
3. Notification for registration and admission opening is usually announced after the CUET PG results within 1 month time.
3. DU publishes shortlisted applicants for the available seats in multiple rounds.
3. Shortlisted applicants are invited for securing seats as per their CUET PG Political Science score cutoff on the first-come-first-served basis.
4. Newly enrolled students are provided admission on provisional basis until they submit all complete documents as per university norms.
5. The commencement of MA Political Science programme and classes usually starts after a month’s time of completion of selection process.
