In reply to Isha. C2 is for English and C3 is for Linguistics, as far as we can tell, you will need to appear for C2 test paper in GATE. But it is better you contact the relevant institute, where you're planning to apply. Only they can confirm which test paper will make you eligible to apply for MA English course.

For M.A in English we have to give Gate XH C2 and C3 both or only C2 ?

Right now they don’t have as per their website page here – https://international.iitd.ac.in/masters-programs-at-iit-delhi/ but it is expected that many IITs will soon launch their PG courses in humanities particularly in English literature.
